Spend the day at Deena's Doggie Day Care and see why BARK! became the third-longest-running show in L.A. theatre history. From the little puppy who yearns to bark like a real dog, to the opera-singing poodle and the street mutt who raps — this musical possesses the huge heart and playful joyfulness present in man's truest friends.

Please bring sheet music in your key for a song of your choice. It is a plus if you can sing something in the style of your "dog," but more important to sing something you know well and are comfortable with. An accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to read from the sides for your character(s). All ages (16+) and ethnicities are welcome to audition. While all the characters are dogs, they are played as people. We will be looking for strong singers who can hold harmonies and embody the personality of each dog.
Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Baritone. Older, wiser, been around but still full of life. He sings a gospel number and "preaches."
Grey Pit Bull Mix, Tenor. Hot, sexy, street-smart and macho hiding insecurity. He sings a Latin number and raps.
Jack Russell Puppy, high Tenor. Energetic, eager, loveable. Still learning how to bark, the baby of the group.
French poodle, Bison Frise or Afghan Hound, Soprano. Former show dog, a diva, elegant, refined and high-maintenance. She sings opera and hits high B/C.
Cocker Spaniel, Mezzo. Protective, warm, caring, frantic. She is the "mom" who takes care of everyone. Has one number with a brassy "belt."
Bull Dog or Pug, Alto/Mezzo. Tough, rugged and sarcastic, tells it like it is. She walks with a limp and emulates her Jewish owners, sings a jazzy blues song.
